Returning in the New Year

We'll be back up and running in the New Year, starting on Monday the 2nd. The holiday season got away from me to a much larger extent than I originally expected.

Fridays

Gang. Fridays are not working for posting. I'm sure you've noticed. I'm going to trim it down to just Monday postings through the holidays and then possibly move to a Saturday/Tuesday posting schedule.

Session 20 :: the Greylord Magiya, an Iron Kingdoms RPG Campaign

In which the Greylord Magiya get a nervous respite and do something stupid but not out of character. I'm late posting this. I'm a horrible person. Uploading and I don't seem to be getting along these days.

Session 02 :: the Mask, a Through the Breach Campaign

Our less-than-savory adventurers venture into the sewers to make it to Forlorn.

I hope you've all enjoyed a full work week of actual plays. Starting Monday, we'll be back on track with our schedule of Greylord Magiya sessions on Monday and our assortment of one-shots and short campaigns posting on Friday. Music by Fields of Ohio.

Session 01 :: Imitation of Life, a Savage Worlds Campaign

Welcome to the post-apocalypse. For the robots, anyway. Humanity is extinct, leaving behind two legacies: their loyal robots and the genetically modified monsters the humans betrayed them with. This is actually session 02... the original session 01 did not get recorded, unfortunately. We do recap that session at the beginning, however.

Session 01 :: the Mask, a Through the Breach Campaign

Our first Through the Breach session of Randy's short campaign, the Mask. This is not a long session as we are learning the game and our characters.

All Gates, a New World of Darkness 1st Edition One-Shot

Happy Halloween! In honor of the holiday, we played a new World of Darkness 1st ed. one-shot. Employees of Crane Co. work overtime on a Friday and learn more about what their company actually does. Please listen with the following warnings: we are all drinking, cross-talking, being rowdy, cursing, and becoming sleep deprived. Enjoy the first session of our Week o' Posting; come back tomorrow for our first Through the Breach session!

Happy Halloween!

I'm waiting for this AP to upload. I've been waiting for hours. I don't know why it's taking so long. I'm trying. I'm sorry.

Never Fear!

Don't worry, friends. I have postponed yesterday's usual session post in light of the special Halloween session I am running today that will be posted on Monday (and our purchase of Rise of Iron didn't help, either.) To make up for it, I'll be posting an actual play every weekday in the upcoming week! It all starts on Monday with our Halloween game (just in time for actual Halloween!), then on Tuesday I'll post the first session of our new Through the Breach short campaign. Wednesday will be Greylord Magiya, Thursday will be the first session of our Savage Worlds Robot game, then Friday will be the second session of our new Through the Breach short campaign barring unforseen circumstances that prevent us from actually playing it. If that's the case, what I post will be a surprise! I hope you enjoy the upcoming week and Happy Halloween.

Session 18 :: the Greylord Magiya, an Iron Kingdoms RPG Campaign

Sometimes even Khadorans have to learn the hard way that there are consequences to their actions. I think you all know how that ended after the Dracodile.

Session 02b :: Donor's Remorse pt. 2 in Damnation, a Red Markets Campaign

Damage Control continues their second job in what will be our last Red Markets session for awhile. Never fear, we shall play it again. (Or fear, if you absolutely hate it. Sorry.)

Session 17 :: the Greylord Magiya, an Iron Kingdoms RPG Campaign

When the cat's away, the mice will play: when left to their own devices, Kirill, Red, and Vandestelka manage to make some "interesting" choices. Please accept my apologies for the mic noises going on early in the episode and other obnoxious noises later. This was recording approximately 10 months ago and we have learned a lot about improving our audio quality just in the last month.

Damage Control negotiates their second job and heads out to meet up with some guilt. Further audio adjustments have been made, these seem to have gone further.

The Excitement of New Games and Things to Come

A lot of gamers have Their Game; the one true game that is the one they play. They know that game inside and out and have played it for years. It's entirely possible that they have never played another game at all. I'm OK with that, I just don't know how they do it. I love to try new games! There are more games coming out that I want to try than I have time to play. It doesn't help that I am also a big fan of lengthy campaigns. Maybe this is where I can start to understand those gamers who just play the one game.

We started making Wednesday gaming a more regular thing as you may have noticed with the Red Markets campaign. Before Red Markets was a short Post-Apocalyptic Robot Savage Worlds campaign and before that was the start and quick end of The Great Pendragon Campaign. We're dedicating Wednesdays to short campaigns, one-shots, and just plain ol' trying out games that are striking our fancy. Games that are in the works: some nWoD 1st ed. (man it is getting complicated to explain what Word of Darkness game you're playing these days) for Halloween, more Exiles (video of some Exiles embedded below as an extra treat), Dragon Age, and Eclipse Phase. There's also been talk of Savage Worlds Rifts and Unknown Armies, both games that I've happily Kickstarted. Randy's run some Through the Breach for us on occasion, which may or may not be of an audio quality we can share, and I hope he will continue to do so in the future. We're also in some actual podcast discussions but more on that when things are more definite.

We will probably be finished playing the Greylord Magiya this year. That gaping hole in our gaming schedule is bound to be filled by a new long campaign but I'm not sure what it will be or who will be running it. It may very well be something we've tried out on our One Shot Wednesdays and it may very well be me. We'll just see how it plays out. I am very fond of Iron Kingdoms RPG as a game; it will almost certainly cycle back into our gaming schedule. Maybe I understand those guys with their one game more than I thought. Anyway, as promised, here is that Exiles video:

Session 01c :: And Now, the Weather pt.3 in Damnation, a Red Markets Campaign

Well, "And Now, the Weather" turned into a three session job. I did a few things differently with the audio; I hope it is more listenable.

Session 01b :: And Now, the Weather pt.2 in Damnation, a Red Markets Campaign

Our second session in and we still have not finished this job...certainly our fault as we muddle through learning the rules on both the player and GM side. We get through our legs, conversations about certain brothers are had, and we are so, so screwed.

So...um...sorry?

Wow, guys. I knew I was behind on posting Greylord Magiya sessions. I did not realize I was ten months behind. Please accept my apologies. We're still playing. We've been recording. I will get you all caught up. Seriously. I'm sorry. I'm going to make it up to you with twice-weekly updates (Monday and Friday, I think) at least until we get caught up. Friday will be our Wednesday One-Shot game, which is currently Damnation, our Red Markets game (and not actually a one-shot, but a short campaign). If we miss any sessions of Damnation, we'll mix in some Greylord Magiya. Monday will be Greylord Magiya. I know what you're thinking: but Susan, how will you ever get caught up with a schedule like that?! Well, dear listeners, we only play Greylord Magiya every other week. We have also missed a few of our regular scheduled sessions. So you do the math; we'll get caught up eventually.

Session 01a :: And Now, the Weather pt.1 in Damnation, a Red MarketsCampaign

We're trying out Caleb Stokes's Red Markets, a game of economic horror set in the zombie apocalypse. In this, our first actual session after character and enclave generation, we get through a summation of our enclave, Damnation (it's a pun, you'll get it once you've listed. Hah! We're hilarious.) and some vignettes with our dependents, not to mention negotiations for our first job. An epic game of rock-paper-scissors is won.
